Rachel Schwartz works with Treanor Devlin Brown as an Attorney on projects where her experience and skillsets are pivotal to addressing a range of legal challenges.
Rachel has a distinguished background in both the the judicial system and private practice. From 2023 through 2025 Rachel served as Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In that role Rachel advised the Court’s judges on counseled motions, pro se matters, and immigration cases. Prior to that, Rachel was an Associate in the litigation practice of one of the world’s leading international law firms, Sidley Austin LLP. While at Sidley, Rachel handled two civil trials, addressed significant bankruptcy matters, and advised clients on complex jurisdictional and privilege issues. She also represented a group of federal prisoners challenging their solitary confinement under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, conducting depositions, retaining and preparing expert witnesses, and helping successfully negotiate a settlement with opposing counsel.
Rachel earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude. She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She is admitted to practice in New York as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of New York.
In the fall of 2026 Rachel will start a clerkship with a United States District Judge in the Eastern District of New York.
